All MYO approvals should be sent to Nopal via discord or DA.
Bepotelkh are based off of real-life cervids, and both the species and lore try to remain semi-realistic. As a result, there are just a couple of things to keep in mind when you order a custom, design a MYO, etc. Also keep in mind that bepotelkh and sonoelkh are two different species with different traits-- while a sono might have tiger-like stripes, a bep won't! Breeding two different species of beps may result in a blend of traits. More about breeding can be found in the breeding guide.

Bases
Herboreal's made several bases for you to design your MYOs. You are welcome to draw them yourself, but you can use a base if you prefer! Feel free to swap out mane, tail, ear, etc traits to make the base look more like what you need.

Markings
Like their real-life counterparts, bepotelkh have a variety of markings, but all of them are found naturally. Like other traits, markings can be changed with a trait potion from the ARPG Shop. All markings and other traits can be found on the weebly (sonoelkh).
Some unique items can give your bep markings not found naturally! Find out more here. |
Some markings can vary a little from the examples listed on the traits page.
Colors
Coat colors can vary quite a bit, but remain within natural ranges. Browns can be as saturated as any fur color found naturally on a mammal. Grays can be warmer or cooler, but should not look too blue. Swampland beps' fur may take on a greenish tinge from moss or algae that grows there!
An example of allowable colors. There are many similar colors that are fine but blues, purples, yellows, and reds should be no more saturated than shown here, and greens etc are only allowed as algae growth on the swampland subspecies. Eye color can be much more variable and saturated including purple, but should still look fairly natural. The sclera must be white (or off-white)
If you want an unnatural or more saturated coat color on your bepotelkh, you can purchase dyes in the ARPG Shop with gildes. There's also a guide to using dyes to give you an idea of what your bep might end up looking like. |
Traits
Beps have a variety of traits, but again they closely resemble those found in real-life cervids. For example, their manes, antlers, and tails can have a variety of shapes, but you'll never see a bep with a unicorn horn! There's also additional traits, such as beards, tusks, and extra buttfluff. You can buy potions to change a bep's traits in the ARPG Shop. All traits can be found on the traits page (sonoelkh).

Accessories
Your bep has the choice of being domestic or wild, and as a result accessories can be found on both regardless. However, they're much more common on domestic beps, as accessories are usually given to the bep by a handler. Domestic beps are most commonly seen with a collar and bell, or tools and other accessories necessary for their work (However, work accessories can only be purchased via commision, premade sale, or earned via job class permit). Special accessories can be purchased in the ARPG Shop, or received as a reward from events or special prompts
Scars and Disabilities
Beps can have scars or any type of disability freely. These are not traits and therefore don't have rarities. However, please be tasteful and avoid "inspiration porn" portrayals of disability or offensive tropes (such as being "crazy" or "derpy") or your custom/MYO could be rejected. Gore is disallowed in designs.
Aitielkh
Unlike beps and sonos, aiti don't follow the rules of markings and colors, and instead may display any sort of marking and color without restriction (within reason- please veer away from representational markings as much as possible, and if they must be representational of something, it must be something found in nature i.e. no smiley face markings and such). However, adult aiti all have a repeating pattern on their body (or a constellation for sonoaitis), a long fluffy tail or any bepotelkh/sonoelkh tail, and the mane, ears, and antlers should resemble existing bepotelkh traits (rarity is not considered for these traits for aitielkh). More about aitielkh can be found here.
The repeating pattern was originally meant to resemble nordic sweater patterns, but the rules have been relaxed to allow other repeating patterns within reason.
Sonoelkh have constellations in place of the repeating pattern. The constellation can be real or made-up and can appear anywhere visible on their body.
When designing aitielkh and sonoaitielkh fawns, keep in mind they only have "nubs" for antlers, and their manes are not fully grown in yet. They also will not yet have their flower crown or repeating pattern/constellation. Fawns are proportionally smaller than their adult counterparts and often appear gangly. Aitielkh fawns would not typically have accessories, but it is canonically possible that shroomkin made a simple garment for them.
When growing an aiti fawn into an adult, be sure to design their repeating pattern and flower crown. The flower crown should have 1-2 types of flowers/plants/branches (real-world plants with names), plus one real gemstone. These elements are considered part of their personality, so it may be fun to research the meanings associated with certain flowers and gemstones!
